Brent Faulkner
Brent has served for 28 years in the fire service and brings a well-rounded perspective to the Emergency Services sector. Having been a part of the private, volunteer, and career fire service, a supervisor at one of our nations DHS Terrorism Fusin Centers, and a small business owner serving the fire service, he understands multiple perspectives and brings a unique vision to where we are and where we could be.
Community Risk Reduction (CRR) is at the heart and soul of his vision. Brent sees CRR as a holistic approach to serve the community before, during, and after an event, not as a single function for a limited number of personnel. The community must be at the core of CRR with representation, and engagement from all stake holders including government, private sector, religious community, health care, special interests, and emergency services. He feels strongly that CRR must be seen as the managerial tool to prevent, mitigate, and restore “normalcy” as soon as possible after an event occurs.
As a champion of technology, Brent sees a future where we can better teach, serve, and understand our community and the “why” behind what we do. Technology is much more than just data collection; it is the pathway to serve our community with the limited resources we have. The proper implementation of technology ensures our human resources are used where they are needed most.
