This class focuses on the fundamentals of through-the-lock forcible entry to build a foundation of lock identification and executing common techniques. It will start with a guided lecture that will focus on identifying and manipulating common lock types, methods of cylinder removal and/or lock manipulation, and a size-up based progression for troubleshooting when common issues are encountered. Following the lecture, attendees will be divided into groups, rotated through lock stations, and encouraged to go hands on with locks and techniques. They will have a foundation of lock identification and manipulation on which to build, increasing their success on the fireground.
