Standpipe Operations: Attention to Detail

This class is designed to give attendees a solid foundation on which to build an effective standpipe operations plan. Topics include engine companies placing one powerful attack handline in service as quickly as possible to control and stop the fire; using 2½-inch attack hoseline along with a two-inch nozzle for a hybrid attack in situations where the fire is compartmentalized; recommended tools, appliances, and equipment; the two primary types of stretches for this operation--the Apartment Stretch and the Stairway Stretch; and establishing and maintaining a proactive and battle-ready fire mindset when training for and completing standpipe operations.
