Response To MC-406 Gasoline Tanker Emergencies

Tuesday, April 08

This class will review the construction features and various components of the MC-406 tanker trailer, which is the most common hazmat transport tanker in the United States. There will also be a review of the properties of the various combustible and flammable liquids carried. Information on how to properly and safely mitigate emergencies from a minor leak to a catastrophic event will be provided and case histories will be reviewed. Following the classroom portion, students will move outside for hands-on training using an actual rolled over tanker, followed by a "drill and pump" hot tap demonstration.
