LODD Planning: Are You Prepared?
Planning is your job. You are expected to be prepared, equipped, and in control when you show up for someone else's worst day. Have you done that for your own family? Have you educated and empowered them to pick up the pieces should the unthinkable happen to you? Fire widows will share their unique stories from the point of notification to navigating the first months and year of line-of-duty process and paperwork. They will share key planning steps and considerations as well as resources that you should know about. They will encourage thoughtful consideration of survivor planning and the need to have those conversations with yourself, your loved ones, and even your fellow firefighters regardless of how uncomfortable it may be.
