This class will review the hot legal issues affecting fire and EMS organizations daily. The format will be combined lecture and question and answer periods. Student participation will be highly encouraged. Topics include guns, alcohol, and marijuana in the firehouse; transgender and gender related claims; social media rants, raves, and retaliations; First Amendment audits by the public; NFPA 1583 medical examinations; OSHA rules and regulations; digital imagery and public record policies; embezzlement by those you know; operational and training liabilities; and any other topics attendees want to discuss.
