Energy Hazard Training for Responders

Tuesday, April 08

Energy hazard knowledge is one of the largest training gaps for first responders. Nothing exposed this vulnerability more than lithium-ion battery fires. Our failure to properly address historic energy training gaps has left the national fire service unprepared to keep pace with the evolving energy industry. If your energy training starts and ends with lithium-ion batteries, you are missing a much larger energy battleship. In this program, you will learn how important and easy it is to conduct an energy hazard size-up for every incident you encounter; about voltage rated PPE, tools, and equipment; and how to use what you've already got on your rig. This is a down and dirty energy hazard course for responders—learn what you need to know right now and how to respond with confidence rather than apprehension.
