Conducting a Fire Apparatus Fleet Evaluation

Wednesday, April 09

This class will provide recommendations on the best strategies and alternatives to ensure that the fire department will be able to perform its mission safely, efficiently, effectively and at a reasonable cost. This begins with an assessment of the condition and operational capabilities of existing vehicles. The second essential step is to identify the operational capabilities needed to protect the community. Based on this information, students can begin to develop an apparatus plan for the fire department and provide important recommendations to guide decision making. The ultimate goal is to provide a blueprint that can be used to manage the apparatus fleet and plan future capital expenditures.
