The Rescue Task Force concept provides a framework for law enforcement, fire, and EMS to work cohesively to provide point-of-wound care to victims of active threat events. Agencies will only be prepared for an event of this nature through joint response policies and integrating aggressive and proactive tactics. This class aims to enhance the collaboration between agencies to ensure a swift and coordinated response, emphasizing the need for rapid medical interventions in an indirect threat, also known as the “warm zone.”  Using the guidelines of Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, students gain the medical skills necessary for treating victims in high-threat environments through a unified approach, integrating with the specialties and tactics of law enforcement. The concept of a unified approach to public safety has emerged as a powerful solution to enhanced responses in times of crisis. By collaborating, cross-training, standardizing protocols, and effectively communicating, public safety agencies and first responders will be better equipped to respond to high-risk situations and better protect our communities.  

PPE Required: No open-toe shoes. Comfortable uniform-type attire. Other ballistic and PPE will be provided.
